The establishment of Adarsh Pre-Examination Training Centers for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe male and female candidates for various prestigious competitive examinations was done in 1994 in Uttar Pradesh. Until 1997, coaching was provided only to male candidates. However, from 1997-98 onwards, the center started providing training exclusively to female candidates from Uttar Pradesh. From 1997-98 to 2008, coaching was exclusively provided to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe female candidates. From 2009, provisions were made to provide coaching to female candidates from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and other backward classes. Reservation of seats in proportion to total capacity is approximately 45% for Scheduled Castes candidates, 05% for Scheduled Tribes candidates, with the remaining 50% for candidates from other backward classes. Instead of sessions lasting for 05-05 months, it was decided to conduct one session of 10 months in a year. The total capacity of the institution is for 150 trainees. The government had established a fund of Rs. 1.5 crore (1 crore 50 lakh) for the center, from which the earned interest and government budget fulfill the financial requirements..
